A brief introduction of myself and my experiences with writing

My name is Robert Moore. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is my hometown. My favorite sport is basketball. I went all public in high school for basketball my senior year. The nomination of being all-public is a very big deal to me. I work harder than the rest of my teammates. I received a plaque from the PIAA in Philadelphia for high school sports and I would consider it my best achievement. I also played baseball. Left field was the position that I was playing. baseball was all fun and games to me. However, others took it seriously on the team. I was one outstanding role player.  The thing most people do not know about me is that I played chess. Chess was a game that challenges the mind. Chess is my all time favorite cerebral game. My chess coach was by far the best chess coach in Philadelphia. He taught me so much about the game of chess and it was life changing because my chess game was stronger because of the extra session we have. During high school, I have connected with so much people as far as high school faculty. I have connections with teachers, hallway patrol, and maintenanace crew. Each faculty was informing on the life behind high school. I am an open minded person so the information that was told to me I will keep forever. I am the type of person that cherish every moment in life. Everyday I will fufill every aspect of each unit of time.

Writing has been overall a good experience for me.  I get to speak my mind through pen and paper.  Many topics people write about requires no wrong answers. I enjoy writing topics that require no right or wrong answers. Therefore, no one can tell your wrong. My 10th grade English teacher Mrs. Everman told me that I am good writer.  She admired that I was not a boring writer. however,  she hit me with the transition word, "but if you work on your punctuation, you would be an even more of a better writer. Ever since the 10th grade, I lived off of Mrs. Everman's feedback. I hope to gain a better understanding on the concepts of writing and critical thinking from Writing intensive first year seminar.

In order to be an active reader and a good critical thinker, You must ask questions. People do not understand the stuff they are reading. By having curiosity, you will be steps closer to get your questions answered. The questions you have for a certain part of the passage can be answered by a fellow peer or your instructor. Eventually, you will get your questions answered and have a better understanding. Another task that must be completed in order to become an active reader is to summarize what you have read. Anyone can read the material but only a few can summarize what they have read. The task of summarizing a story only shows how well you understand the book.  In order to stand out instead of being a pariah, your best bet is to summarize the text. You will never know what the class is going to review or what is going to on the test. Finally you should state your opinion in the text, let the book impact you in a way that be helpful to much much you understand the author's message. A person's opinion can be potential tool.
